The rain lashed against the tinted windows of the Maybach, blurring the neon lights of the city into streaks of bleeding color.

Inside, the atmosphere was suffocating, thick with tension and the scent of expensive leather mixed with the overwhelming fragrance of bridal jasmines.

Shrinking into the corner of the plush leather seat, she pressed herself as close to the door as possible, wishing she could simply melt into the shadows.

The heavy, gold-embroidered lehenga felt like a lead weight, and the traditional bridal veil did nothing to hide the violent trembling of her shoulders.

She wasn't supposed to be here.

This wasn't her wedding.

It was her cousin's. But a few hours ago, a frantic web of family betrayals and desperate threats had forced her into this heavy bridal attire, veiling her face and forcing her to walk down the aisle to a man who thought he was marrying someone else.

Her gaze flicked fearfully to the right.

Even in the dim, shadowed interior of the car, his presence was staggering.

He was a mountain of a man, his scary, massive build swallowing up the space in the luxury vehicle. His broad shoulders stretched the fabric of his dark wedding sherwani, radiating an aura of absolute, lethal authority. He hadn't looked at her once since they got into the car, his sharp, chiseled jawline set in a rigid way.

A suffocating wave of panic crashed over her. The stories about him were legendary-he was cold, ruthless, a man who got exactly what he wanted, when he wanted it. And now, she was trapped with him.

A choked sob escaped her lips, followed by another.

The tears poured freely now, smudging her bridal makeup as she tried to stifle her panic.

The soft, pathetic sound of her crying sobs echoed in the quiet, tense space of the car.

Sob. Sniffle.

The silence stretched, agonizingly tense, until the man beside her shifted. The air in the car instantly grew colder.

Slowly, he turned his head. His dark, piercing gaze cut through the shadows, locking onto her trembling form like a predator spotting its prey.

There was no warmth in his eyes-only an abyss of cold annoyance.

"Can you just shut up?"

The words cut through the air, delivered in a dark, dangerously deep, husky voice that vibrated right through her chest.

It wasn't loud, but it possessed a rude, razor-sharp edge that brooked absolute zero argument. "You're making my head ache."

She flinched violently, her breath catching in her throat as she clamped her mouth shut. Her heart hammered against her ribs like a trapped bird.

"I-I'm sorry..." she whispered, her voice barely a squeak, her hands clutching her bridal veil in sheer terror.

He didn't reply. He merely gave her one last, lingering, dark look that promised a living hell before turning his gaze back to the window, completely indifferent to her terror.

The car sped forward into the unforgiving night, carrying her straight into the jaws of a beast who had no idea he had married a wrong girl.

Do you think will he ever be able to accept her??
